The word Portar

A virtual holiday and cultural exploration game

Currently in early development.

Portar is an upcoming Ludagon videogame about travel, where players explore real-world places, culture, and experiences from around the world.

It’s a third-person casual adventure set in real-world locations, incorporating local attractions, businesses, food, stories, and minigames inspired by things people can actually see and do there.

Portar is an ambitious idea that Ludagon founder Ricky Vuckovic has carried with him for almost 20 years. Now, he is beginning to turn that idea into its first playable experience.

The dream is forĀ Portar to become a series of virtual holidays, with each game exploring a different part of the world. The first game begins close to home, in Ricky’s city of Canberra, Australia.

Graphics comparison of a real-world location vs the game world equivalent

We are currently sourcing location partners for the Canberra game, and already the game is prototyping:

  • A boutique hotel as your main base between game locations
  • A space observatory and advanced technology centre
  • Urban axe throwing
  • A smash room
  • A taster of an escape room
  • Mountain biking on two real tracks recreated corner-for-corner with 3D scanning
  • At least one cultural centre
  • And, every cosy game needs somewhere to go fishing.

Throughout the game, you can also collect clothing and stickers to customise your character and luggage, as well as postcards that unlock realistic 3D scenes captured directly from real Canberra landmarks, similar to Ludagon’s Postcard game released earlier in 2026.
